Maryland Public Service Commission
Receives Department Of Defense Award
For Continuing Support Of The
National Guard And Reserve
Baltimore, MD -- The Maryland Public Service Commission is proud to announce it has received the Committee Chair Award from The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Colonel Richard J. Knauer presented Chairman Catherine I. Riley with this prestigious award. The Committee Chair Award is bestowed upon employers who have demon-strated support and appreciation for employees serving our country through the Reserves and the National Guard. Chairman Riley graciously accepted the award on behalf of the Commission.
Employers across the country have been asked to support employees, who are members of the Reserves and National Guard, which have been mobilized during Operation Noble Eagle.
Staff Sgt. Larry Allen nominated Chairman Riley to show his appreciation for the strong continuing support and assistance he has received from the Commission since being called to active duty in April 2002. Allen has been employed with the Commission as a Public Utility Auditor since August 1998.
Staff Sgt. Allen thanked the Commission for their thoughts and prayers. He noted that it was very reassuring to see his office awaiting his return. Allen requested that everyone continue to offer support and prayers for all those serving in every branch of the military.
Riley states "The Commission is quite proud to receive this distinguished award. We are supportive of the Guard and its dedicated citizens - soldiers. Mostly, however, today, we are proud of Larry Allen and his commitment to his State, his country and all of us."
